The Food Intolerance Testing Package for Adults (IgG) – 96 Foods offers a convenient method for our Naturopaths or Nutritionists to identify specific food intolerances you may hae from samples you take using the food intolerance testing kit at home.
We use testing conducted through NutriPATH for our Food Intolerance Testing Packages.
This test specifically measures the IgG antibody levels in your sample against a panel of 96 different foods, encompassing a broad spectrum of food groups such as dairy, meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts.
Elevated levels of IgG antibodies to certain foods may indicate an intolerance.
Here’s a straightforward, step-by-step guide on how the Food Intolerance Testing process works:
- Make an Initial Consultation Appointment – You will make an Initial Naturopath Consultation or Initial Nutritionist Consultation appointment with Brisbane Livewell Clinic. These consultations could be either booked separately (by phone or through our website under “Naturopath” or “Nutritionist”) or as the Food Intolerance Testing Package for Adults (IgG) – 96 Foods at Wavell Heights or Cannon Hill.
- We will Order the Test Kit for you – After you have consulted with our Naturopath or Nutritionist, we will purchase your Food Intolerance Testing Package (IgG) for 96 foods directly from NutriPATH. The kit is designed for easy at-home sample collection and will be posted to you by NutriPATH.
- Sample Collection at Home – Upon receiving your test kit, follow the instructions provided to collect your sample. It’s convenient and straightforward to complete on your own.
- Post Your Sample to NutriPATH – After collecting your sample, use the pre-paid postage and pre-addressed package included in your kit to send it back to NutriPATH for analysis.
- Analysis by NutriPATH – Once your sample arrives at NutriPATH, it will be analysed for IgG antibodies against the 96 foods included in the test panel.
- We will Receive Your Report – NutriPATH will provide your Naturopath or Nutritionist at Brisbane Livewell Clinic with a detailed report of your test results, indicating the levels of IgG antibodies found for each food tested. This report categorises foods based on antibody levels, helping identify potential food intolerances.
- We will Let You Know and Suggest you Book in your Test Results Consultation – For legal reasons, we cannot provide your test results to you without you attending a Naturopath Test Results Consultation or Nutritionist Test Results Consultation. Here, our Naturopath and Nutritionist will offer guidance on interpreting the results and recommend dietary adjustments and a Treatment Plan if necessary.
- Dietary Adjustment– Based on the test results and the advice you receive, you may need to modify your diet to avoid or reduce intake of intolerant foods, and monitor for symptom recurrence and/or improvement.
For children, a similar Food Intolerance Testing Package (IgG) – 96 Foods is available. However, the process for children involves a blood test, which must be conducted by a trained professional at your local Pathology Collection Centre. This ensures the sample is collected safely and accurately for analysis.
Both testing packages provide valuable insights into food intolerances, aiding in dietary management and symptom relief. However, it’s crucial to engage with our healthcare professionals before making any significant changes to your or your child’s diet based on the test results.
