Hormone Testing Brisbane – Get Clarity on Your Hormonal Health
At Brisbane Livewell Clinic, we offer professional Hormone Testing services in Brisbane for clients who want to better understand their hormonal profile. Our Naturopaths and Nutritionists use evidence-based pathology and functional testing to help identify imbalances and create targeted Wellness Plans.
Hormonal health plays a central role in fatigue, weight changes, fertility, sleep, mood, skin, stress, and metabolic function. We work with clients experiencing symptoms of hormonal disruption and offer testing options that may provide deeper insights than standard blood tests alone.
Why Choose Brisbane Livewell Clinic for Hormone Testing?
Functional and standard pathology testing options
Access to salivary, urinary, blood and Dutch testing panels
Practitioners with clinical experience in hormonal symptoms and cycle mapping
Testing may assist in identifying adrenal, thyroid, oestrogen, progesterone or testosterone imbalances
Support plans available for perimenopause, PCOS, thyroid irregularities, PMS, fatigue and stress
Is This the Right Hormone Test for You?
Our Naturopaths can advise whether hormone testing is appropriate for your current symptoms and goals. During your initial consultation, we will determine if a DUTCH test, saliva panel, thyroid screen or other form of hormone testing is the best fit to support your health.
If you’re unsure what type of testing is needed, a Full Health Review appointment provides a complete evaluation. From there, your Practitioner will recommend the most clinically useful tests based on your presentation, budget and history.
What Is the DUTCH Test?
The DUTCH test (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is one of the most advanced hormone testing options available. It provides a detailed look at sex and adrenal hormones — including oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol — along with their metabolites. This allows us to assess not only levels but how well your body is processing these hormones.
Unlike standard testing, DUTCH also includes:
-
A full diurnal cortisol profile
-
Melatonin assessment
-
Clear mapping of hormone pathways
-
Specific markers for hormone metabolism
-
Additional insight into symptoms related to fatigue, PMS, menopause, mood and stress
DUTCH testing is suitable for both women and men. Women can experience hormone imbalances at any stage of life, not just during menopause. Men may also benefit from hormone assessment, particularly in relation to energy, weight gain, and testosterone levels.
This method is especially useful for clients using hormone replacement therapy, including oral progesterone and vaginal hormone creams. Unique extraction methods allow for accurate monitoring of these delivery types.
Sample collection is easy — patients collect four or five urine samples across a 24-hour period. Our Naturopaths will then interpret the results in the context of your broader health.
Types of Hormone Testing We Offer
Our clinic offers a range of practitioner-referred hormone testing options, including:
Saliva Testing – May assess oestrogen, progesterone, DHEA, cortisol and testosterone
DUTCH Testing (Dried Urine) – May provide detailed hormonal and adrenal profiles
Thyroid Panels – May identify TSH, T3, T4, and reverse T3 status
Blood Testing – Includes standard hormone markers where relevant
Cycle Mapping – May assist in understanding ovulation patterns and menstrual hormone fluctuations
Our Naturopaths and Nutritionists guide which testing option is best based on your symptoms and health goals.
In Our Experience
In the Experience of Our Practitioners
Many people are told their blood results are “normal” despite ongoing fatigue, weight gain, anxiety or cycle irregularities. Advanced hormone testing can reveal imbalances that help guide more effective care.
“We often see clients who’ve been dismissed despite real hormonal symptoms. Comprehensive testing gives us a clearer clinical picture — and patients feel heard.”
— Brisbane Livewell Clinic Naturopath
In the Experience of Our Patients
Clients often say that testing gave them answers that had been missing for years. They appreciate the clarity it brings, and the support that follows.
“After years of feeling flat, I finally have proof that something’s off. Now I’ve got a plan that makes sense — not just another supplement.”
— Jasmine, Morningside – Patient

4. What types of hormone tests are available at your clinic?
We offer DUTCH testing, salivary hormone tests, thyroid blood panels, and urinary assessments. Your practitioner will recommend the most suitable option based on your health history.
5. What hormones can be tested?
We may test for cortisol, oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, T4), and others relevant to your condition.
6. Is this testing covered by Medicare?
Functional hormone testing is not covered by Medicare. Some standard pathology tests (eg Thyroid Function) may be eligible with a separate GP referral.
7. How long do hormone test results take?
Hormone test result turnaround times vary. Saliva and urine tests may take 7–14 days, while blood tests are often available within 3–5 days. Our helpful Reception Team will contact you to book a Test Results Consultation when your test results come through.
8. Can hormone testing help with fatigue or burnout?
Hormone testing may assist in identifying adrenal, thyroid or sex hormone imbalances that contribute to fatigue or burnout. Results help shape a tailored support plan.
9. Can I use hormone testing for fertility planning?
Hormone testing may support fertility by identifying ovulation patterns, cycle timing and hormonal balance. Cycle mapping is often used for this purpose.
10. Will I receive a detailed explanation of my results?
Your practitioner will go through each result with you and explain what it may indicate. You’ll receive a written summary and care plan based on the findings.
11. Can I do hormone testing if I’m on the pill or HRT?
Testing while using hormonal contraception or HRT is possible but may affect certain markers. Your practitioner will assess whether testing is appropriate now or should be deferred.
12. Can men do hormone testing too?
Hormone testing is suitable for both men and women. We support men with energy, stress, weight, libido and sleep concerns through targeted hormonal assessments.
13. Is testing available online or by post?
Some hormone tests are done at home and mailed to the lab. Consultations to interpret your results can be done in-person or via videoconference if preferred.
