What is Iron Deficiency?
Iron deficiency occur when the hemoglobin (iron) concentration in your blood is below the normal range. Blood tests are the most common way to diagnose iron deficiency, as these tests measure the level of red blood cells.
Our skilled Naturopaths can carry out the necessary tests and identify your iron deficiency. Our Dieticians, Clinical Nutritionists and Naturopaths can then help you adjust your diet and/or take supplements and herbal medicines to build up your iron levels in a natural manner.
What is Anaemia?
The main protein in human red blood cells is called Hemoglobin. This is the element that carries oxygen through the bloodstream to all the organs through the whole body. Sometimes the hemoglobin concentration in the blood gets lower than normal, thus reducing the blood’s ability to transfer oxygen to organs around the body. The clinical term for this condition is “Anaemia”.
Anaemia is a medical condition which often starts with iron deficiency. If you can control the iron deficiency at the beginning, you may be able to prevent Anaemia.
What foods are needed if you suffer from Iron Deficiency or Anaemia?
If you are suffering from iron deficiency or Anaemia, make sure you are taking an ample amount of iron-rich foods in your daily diet. Chicken liver is a great source of iron. Along with iron, chicken liver is loaded with folate and biotin, which have multiple health benefits. The high amount of iron makes chicken liver an energy-boosting menu. It especially helps to reduce fatigue and weakness that arises from Anaemia.
Chicken liver has fewer calories than other iron-rich red meats like beef liver or mutton liver. So many watching their calories prefer to consume chicken liver as their high iron source for Anaemia.
