Take a moment now to remind yourself why you wanted to do the detox and don’t forget to picture your goals. For example:
- By changing my habits and lifestyle I will have an incredible ripple effect on the people around me
- By changing my habits I will always have lots of energy and avoid sickness into my later years
- By changing my habits I am being a good role model and positive influence on my family/friends/children
As you can see from the program, the next 12 Days will require a vegan style diet to give your body a chance to detox naturally. Moving forward however, there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all diet so a vegan diet may not necessarily be suitable for you long term. Each person is unique with highly individualised nutritional requirements. Personal differences in anatomy, metabolism, body composition and cell structure all influence your overall health and the foods that make you feel your best. That’s why no single way of eating works for everyone.
The food that is perfect for your unique body, age and lifestyle may make another person gain weight and feel lethargic. Men eat differently than women, children eat differently than adults, and we all have very different preferences. Our personal tastes and inclinations, natural shapes and sizes, blood types, metabolic rates and genetic backgrounds influence what foods will and won’t nourish us.
Once you’ve cleansed your body and slowly start reintroducing other types of food back into your diet, be aware of how they make you feel.
Eat everything with intention and feel the effects on your body, both good and bad. A lot of people have found that they’re more in touch with what foods work for their body after a Detox. Don’t jump straight back into your old routine.
Listen to your body, it knows what it needs.
