Michael McCloskey is a highly trained and experienced kinesiologist. Michael was drawn to the field of kinesiology over 20 years ago after experiencing first-hand its power for healing. He trained under one of Brisbane’s leading practitioners, Danny Liddell and has been dedicated to healing people ever since.
Michael is a certified expert in Neural Integration and control and has a special interest in treating children’s learning difficulties, chronic pain in the elderly and stress.

TREATING LEARNING DIFFICULTIES
Kinesiology works to address an over-active stress response system where the body is in a constant state of high alert. Children can be stuck in this state which decreases the ability for the brain to receive the signals it needs for optimal learning. Kinesiology switches off this unwanted energy pathway, inhibiting retained neo-natal reflexes and allowing for a calmer, more effective learning experience. Michael has a keen interest in helping children with learning difficulties and his skills in this area are highly regarded by his peers.
CHRONIC PAIN IN THE ELDERLY
It is Michael’s belief that everyone can benefit from kinesiology from the very young to the elderly. As they get older, people often suffer unnecessarily from chronic pain associated with the natural process of aging. Common ailments such as aching joints and back pain can be effectively treated using kinesiology. Kinesiology can also help the elderly with focus and concentration. Michael uses specialised, advanced kinesiology techniques to provide the foundation and the basis for everyone to perform at their peak ability.
STRESS RELIEF
Humans are wired to protect themselves in dangerous situations where they feel fear – the heart rate increases, blood is sent away from the digestive system to the limbs and higher-executive thinking is swapped for fight or flight. The modern world is full of perceived threats and we can become stuck in overdrive. Kinesiology techniques balance the nervous system, correct the energy flow and enable calm to return.
KINESIOLOGY IS ALL ABOUT BALANCE
An imbalance in one part of your body creates imbalances elsewhere and any pain from past traumatic experiences is often stored somewhere inside you, blocking vital energy flow. Kinesiology is the science of energy balancing and is grounded in the study of anatomy and physiology. When neurological messaging is functioning correctly and when the physical, mental, emotional, chemical and electrical systems are balanced, the body’s natural energy systems create a healthy, well being.
"Recently I have had clients that have suffered from concussions. The most recent one was a male that had a fall in his driveway and slipped backwards and hit his head. This happened several months prior to him presenting in my clinic. He also has a history of playing football and had suffered some hard knocks and some compression fractures in his spine as a result of these during his adolescence so it was difficult to determine whether the deficits that we found were from this period or from his more recent fall. We Identified a gait issue along with an atlanto-occipital problem compounded by a jammed sphenoid. After balancing the atlas, sphenoid, dural torque and resetting his cloacal (pelvic centering) reflexes I then proceeded to balance his Vestibular system. I was almost at the end of this process and I had my gloved finger in his mouth stimulating his lateral pterygoid muscles saying “keep your eyes open and moving your eyes right, left, up and down, closing your eyes and moving your eyes right, left, up and down, it is dark, open your eyes” and guess what? His eyes did not open as he had fallen asleep on my table just at the point when we had reset many of his survival systems and his parasympathetic nervous system kicked in allowing him to go into healing and recovery mode. My client was very athletic and had great muscle tone, however his muscles were not working neurologically. He could still function but it was hard work and he would often feel exhausted. The day after our treatment he went on a long competitive bike ride (about 230Km). He performed really well. He told me that there were a group of other riders that he usually struggled to keep up with however on this occasion he managed to keep them at bay for about 50 Km where they could not even get close to him. On this ride instead of having to use brute muscle strength to move he had muscle integrity restored and the ride became more effortless. I had one further session with him 2 weeks later the day before he was going on a 268Km ride that included hills and last year this ride got the better of him. i had some feedback from him after the ride and he performed really well and was very pleased."
